Interviu acordat în cadrul conferinței Dialogul interprofesional între judecători, procurori şi avocaţi – necesitate în consolidarea Justiţiei în societatea democratică în România / 23 septembrie 2015, București

Alina Matei: Good afternoon!

Nina Betteto: Good afternoon!

Alina Matei: I would like you to tell us what is your opinion about this moment.

Nina Betteto: I think this is a very important moment, the interprofessional dialog matters and the signature of this Charter is important because it constitutes very solid bases for both professions, for judges and prosecutors, on one side, and the lawyers on the other side, for their further interprofessional work. The two professions or the three professions have to realize that is very important to work together, the judges and prosecutors need to know that they are not in an ivory tower and that is important to work together because when we are in a boat together rolling in the same direction we get to our destination sooner than if we are alone.

Alina Matei: In your country, what is the relation between lawyers, judges and prosecutors?

Nina Betteto: First, in order to have good relations, it is important to have good procedure rules. For example, in civil procedures, we have such procedure rules, on one side, we have rules on sections. When lawyers, for example, want to use the laic technics, and, on the other side, it is important to have rules for active management, active case management for judges, so they can ask questions for the parties to clarify certain issues, that is also important. On the other side, it is important to have communication outside of the court, so for example, join trainings for lawyers, judges and prosecutors, on certain aspects, not all trainings, but certain trainings should be common for both professions and we also have that, but of course there are some short comings and what we would like to improve in the future it is the communication lines for both professions, where judges and lawyers could communicate using IT technology.

Alina Matei: What message do you want to send to the Romanian judges, prosecutors and lawyers?

Nina Betteto: I want just like to tell them keep on working, there has been a tremendous step forward in Romania in the judiciary framework, so keep on working and the communication matters.

Alina Matei: Do you want to thank to a particular person?

Nina Betteto: Of course, I would like to thank Mrs. Aida Popa, she has done a tremendous work on this project and without her today would be no signature of the Charter, I’m sure of that.

Alina Matei: I agree with you! Thank you very much!

Nina Betteto: Welcome!
